Lil Durk Reportedly Moved to Solitary Confinement Days Before Federal Bond Hearing

On November 2, 2026, TMZ reported that Banks was transferred to the Special Housing Unit (SHU) at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Los Angeles on Friday, October 30.

Jose Rojas, a union secretary representing Federal Bureau of Prisons employees, confirmed the transfer to TMZ.

Sources familiar with the situation alleged that Banks had questioned repeated searches of his cell and was subsequently disciplined for challenging jail personnel.

The Bureau of Prisons declined to discuss his individual housing assignment or disciplinary circumstances. The alleged reason for the transfer has not been independently verified.

Behind Bars & Under Scrutiny

The reported transfer occurred just five days before Banks’ scheduled bond review hearing.

It also follows an earlier period of restrictive confinement. According to Complex, Banks’ attorney previously reported that he spent approximately 131 days in isolation before returning to the general population in January 2026.

The development raises legitimate reporting questions about his detention conditions and access to legal counsel.

However, there is no verified evidence that the reported disciplinary incident has changed the court’s assessment of his bond request.
