Beauty of Communications

The phrase “Black Lives Matter” was created due to the loss of lives of young black men by law enforcement officers throughout this great nation. The tragic & barbaric deaths of Trayvon Martin, Eric Garner & many others created the phrase which has become a movement sparking protests, debates & round table discussions on race relations & the war on the young black male nationwide.

While I’m very well aware of the movement & in support however as a young black woman living in a city riddled with violence, known now to many as “ChiRaq” my birth place is & forever will be Chicago. At almost 30 I have lost more of my friends & peers than I ever imagined to gun violence but NOT by the hands of white officers. Do not by any means assume that I am ok with or in support of white on black crime…
