Miss Nina Simone

Are you familiar with Miss Nina Simone? Well I wasn’t until last week and since then I have watched her documentary twice. I have been in a separate need of inspiration to inspire myself. If I can inspire self then I can inspire others. We have some legendary souls who are apart of our culture who once stood for power, revolution, and responsibility.
If you haven’t seen “What Happen Miss Simone?” it’s a must see. Click here to learn more about Nina Simone.
Miss Simone, I wish I could just ask you what happen. In my perspective of what happen to Miss Simone, she was trapped. She wasn’t free to be her, the true her. Her passion was her piano her soul was rebellious, outspoken and violent with in. I know how it feels to struggle with the acceptance of others or being yourself just to be judged.
The goal in life is to be happy! Free of worry and full of love. To have the freedom of expression of culture. What happen to Miss Simone was she was unable to fly like a bird and soar, unable to bless the world with her true identity.
I’m greatly inspired by her story of pain, happiness, vulnerability, fight, soul, and the power of identifying where your roots are.
Remember the power of being you is your strength and passage to your purpose in life. It’s when you can truly activate your passion and ambition. Remind yourself that you are original and that’s what makes you special. It’s not worth it to be a copy of someone else when you can be who you want to be instead of who they want you to be.
So forget who they told you to be!
