Socializing with my Hometown Girl in Bronzeville

One thing I love ❤️ is a party 🎉 with a purpose. Last Saturday I met up with my associate Amawi, at her friend Sid’s 28th Birthday 🎂 celebration. I brought my NY homie along for the ride and it was lit 🔥

Her guy Ali made veggie 🌱 and beef 🥩 burgers with some green plantains cooked in curry 🍛, you know I had both 😮‍💨😩 because I love ❤️ food 🥘. I was the first to get a plate too (shaking my head) 🤦🏽‍♀️ .

The event’s vibe was mellow, professional, and fun 🤩 with that urbane feel of urban culture and affairs that I love ❤️. There was so many beautiful 😍 and talented people of color in the room from different backgrounds.

Recap of Event by Amawi (Mandisa Media)

The highlight of the event was Sid’s speech 🎤. He spoke about our connectedness as a human family and his inspiration from the city of Chicago especially because it was founded by a man name Jean Baptise Poine Du Sable, a Haitian American who founded our city. Of course Sid is Haitian. So in truth our founder made it a aboriginal community and post from the beginning of its conception.

Maybe 🤔 I can interview them and share more details on the projects I heard or the amazing 😻 talent I met. I’m looking 👀 forward to building with them. Vibes were solid and definitely have to be set again.
