“Live your life. Access your value and cultivate your talents and skills. Being beautiful and good in bed just simply isn’t going to keep him” – Lala Anthony (The Love Playbook)
The first person that you should love is you first. The first person you should be in love with is YOU. It seems selfish but the hardest person to master is self. Ever heard the line “I know myself better than you!” ? We all have at some point even if it was paraphrased. This year dating has been better than the last 🙂 . You remember my entry dating post lol I had to figure out the basics which was the rules and levels of dating. Then I begin to just simply work on becoming a better woman and human. As I dove into my journey I had realized that I was living backwards lol! How was I trying to be loved but hadn’t figured out myself yet?
I finally begin dating someone who wanted to get to know every part of me. I couldn’t answer simple questions and sex was a uneasy topic. My sex life has always been confusing. I didn’t learn how beautiful sex was until the tender age of 24. So since then I set out to get to know me better on every level even sensual. My dance life always made up for my sexual expression that I never thought about the real sexual expression until I tapped into myself.
You can’t communicate with your significant other if you haven’t taken the time out to satisfy your love for self first. Once you activate your value and take time to grow your skills & talent you will appreciate what you have to offer to society while contributing to a better you. Finding those things out will help you in fulfilling your destiny so that supporting and loving someone else is a piece of cake.
Knowing self helps us to know how to treat others. Think about that old saying your grandmother use to say, “Treat others how you want to be treated”, it made you think about how you wanted to be treated so you can know what to expect in interacting outside of yourself.
Soulful Saturdays
Hotline Bling is a great example of relationship chronicles. Check out my favorite cover (other than Erykah Badu of course)
